i“m using win7 64 bit, so im not a big help here
 but i know that some users have win8 installed and IC is working there. Check if you have microsoft .net Framework 4.5 installed. check for windows updates also. Start IC as admin maybe. please report back and provide us a screenshot of the error. then we know more :P

since a few days I've been trying to get the icons on the desktop
but it just does not go according to instructions of the tutorial what I am doing wrong hope for your help sorry for bad english

what do you mean by preconfigured?
IC choosing the .exe file automaticly? That does not work, in generel game have more than one executable, IC wouldn“t know which is the correct one. Just go to Executable-tab, click ADD, Fill name and executable-path like {app}\Binaries\win32\win32_shipping.exe (for example), check that desktop and startmenu are activated (blue background). then add the internal/external media. And keep an eye on the folder-structure, like inge pointed out. sometimes things get confusing

you mean parameter for the shortcuts.
i dont know either, but i have an autiIt3 script inmind. run("game.exe -parameter") exit you can load this script compiled as an .exe into IC. but its a dirty workaround. EDIT: just testet it by adding -parameters behind the executable path. it doesnt even create a shortcut then. you must use a batch-script (.bat) or an autoit3 script for it.
