How did you fix the problem? I'm having the same issue.

I set the values, enter Ingame and press the Numpads. then just as I enter the upgrades menu on Normandy I crash.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

i think the best option here is learn to use Cheat Engine...

i DL this soft just to test it with ME2 and is hard i think, test and error, more error than test but anyways...

i can find the memory path of my talent points, fuel, ammo, money, but when i load again my savagame all the memory change again and i need to redo everything..., is annoying

Any1 can show me the path of the light for use this program with ME2? i read some default tutorials but, afaik, ME2 engine is a hard one...

would be nice if some1 can tell me some search parameters at least, like Memory Scan Options, Value Type, etc etc etc

The +8 trainer doesn't work, maybe cos that "memory change" problem i mentioned before...

(I know... my english suck... sry)

What you encountered is DMA and has been going for many many many years.

You will need to know ASM to defeat it properly, but for Mass Effect 2 as your starting point in learning you couldnt have picked a more difficult game to do this with.

Tips for CheatEngine

Hi,

Just wanted to share few tips using CheatEngine for mass effect. First of all it seems cheat mod mentioned before works just fine and has most options you need, may be in exception for talent points. Invulnerability, Unlimited ammo, credits, resources. Anyway, here's few tips.

Most options I mention here (credits, resources, stat points) are one time cheats, so you don't need to do it all over again.

1. Save your game before you do any cheating, something might go wrong, even more - go to your save game folder and backup save game before you've cheated in case it gets overwritten or deleted.
2. Save your game after you've cheated, so you don't need to do it again if you get killed and have to load.

NOTE: For best results, ESPECIALLY when looking for talent (squad) points, you should do search when you Alt-Tab in game (Not in mission computer, not in squad points distribution window). Take a note of value you are going to look for, press resume game, Alt-Tab.

Money and resources:
Be in a place where you can easily gain or spend some money, preferably few times in a row. Citadel shopping district for example.
Search for your initial money in CE (Exact Value, 4 Bytes Integer). If you get lots of adresses, buy something or crack a safe and search again for new value (usual stuff for CE). You should be left with few addresses, preferably only 2. Try changing them by +1, +2 credits accordingly and check in game to see which one of them stores the real value you need to change.

When you have money, all other resources seem to be stored in tight record relative to money. All resources are stored as 4 byte integers, they go in sequance:
MediGel is Money address +4 bytes.
Element Zero: +8 bytes
Iridium: +12 bytes
Palladium: +16 bytes
Platinum: +20 bytes
Easy way to add these is to select money address and from drop down menu press Browse this memory region, select address and from drop down menu press "Add This address to the list".

As for heavy weapon ammo, it's stored somewhere else, not in this record.

Talent (squad) points:
Save your game, and back it up.
You should have few spare points to spend, and be able to spend them few times to change talent point value.
Take a note of slected members squad points, exit squad point distribution, and resume game, then Alt-Tab to CE.
Look for first value. Alt-Tab to game, go to point distribution, spend some points (take note of new value), exit point distribution, resume game, Alt-Tab to CE and search for new value.
Rinse and repeat until you are left with 2 addresses. Change them to see which one works.
Save your game.

Hope this will help someone.

P.S. I break my toys before i play.

Although! These will need to be re-found every time using this method, as you haven't really made a 'hack' here. Just a temporary address edit.

Hi, this is my fitrst time here, It was'nt supposed to be a trainer, just a few tips for using CE.
As I mentioned here, most options are one time cheats anyway (you cheat lots of credits, resources, points) and forget it, unless you manage to spend a billion credits. Combined with cheat mod which adds infinte ammo, invulnerability and removes skill recharge timers, this should be all the trainer you need.
I hold Caliber and other traner makers in high respect and I would never imagine to mach their skills.

DMA = Dynamic Memory Allocation - i.e. addresses for storing data change each game, level and/or saved game load.

ASM = Assembly.

You dont have to go far, check the coders section on this forum. I done some tutorials, on ASM and on a few on DMA defeating.

And yes ME2 is the one of the more difficult games to train fully, due to scripted events.

I have found that inferno's +8 trainer crashes ME2 when I activate god mode, although everything else works to a certain degree. For some reason the inf ammo doesn't seem to work for the grenade launcher or anything in that slot.

It appears that KelSat released his new trainer for Mass Effect 2.

I just downloaded it, I have yet to see if it works.

http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games...effect_2.shtml the one that says +7

Hmm, causes my game to crash as soon as I activate it. Shame

scratch that. I activated it at the main menu and entered ingame. Then activate all the other options and it works like charm!

It also works with eyebiz's small yet awesome trainer

I dunno if you replied to my edits or to the original post, but the trainer is pretty much unstable.

One time it works like magic and the second it crashes instantly. Very unpredictable. Also if only the trainer had an infinite ammo option. I think merging between eyebiz's trainer and KelSat's one is causing one of them to crash. not entirely sure though.

I wish I could use Cheathappen's trainer. I could get into a big argument about how CH should be a free site, but I won't.

I could show you how to enable infinite ammo :P

1. Download Notepad++ http://sourceforge.net/projects/note...r.exe/download - Never EVER use normal Notepad, Wordpad or Word to edit the ini file.

2. Download Ruby and I included a ruby script to fix the CRC of the .ini file after editing. http://vwaskar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ruby/ruby.rar

3. Install Notepad++ and Ruby (which is in the .rar file)

4. Copy the included .rb file, to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\Config\PC\Cooked (or whever you installed it) and paste it in here, so that you only have the .ini file and .rb file there.

5. Make a backup of your original unaltered coalesced.ini file. And open with Notepad++ make your changes.. And no dont AllowD3D10use when you see the option, as its not fully supported.

6. When done making changes, save, and then open up the .rb file. It may or may not have associated the file type, if not find ruby.exe (not rubyw.exe) where you installed it and tick always open up this file type with this program. It will then scan the ini file and make a fixed - coalesced.ini file. Delete your amended file you did and rename the new one by removing the "fixed - " and thats it.

I put this on CH forum also, but hey hum its not a big deal

Check near the bottom of the .ini file you will come across the weapons, and you will see an option to enable infinite ammo for EACH weapon not just a one time option. You can also muck around with damage etc.

I also have an edited ini file for better stability and more texture memory usage, and removed intro movies. http://www.vwaskar.pwp.blueyonder.co...oalescedv2.rar just remember to remove the v2 when moving the file to the correct folder.
