Well, I'm not the one who put my chip.
What's a capacitor?
Going back to the retailer is really out of the question. Now that I have a chip, who would agree to even consider helping me?

We're awfully sorry - but we had to get some sleep after tirelessly considering your problem and trying to help you out (LOL). Please forgive us just this once.

I think we've pretty much exhausted the possibilities of remote diagnosis. Just like you were under a misconception about playing import backups, you're probably under a similar misconception about your PS2 #####r. They live in the real world, they fix things and might um and ah about it (to gain a few more dollars out of you), but they usually have standard calibration tests they can perform to get to the bottom of the problem. The wealth of experience at the Forum hasn't been able to help you beyond advice given by myself and DAL.

So, back to you and let us know how you get on.

My Lord,

DAL has communicated with me praying that I should crave your indulgence to read his words of support and endeavour in your time of great need.

"p.s. if u can let gunblade know ill have a look on time crisis 2 and devil
may cry tonight for those dodgey sounds etc etc. I can't post
on the fourm at work which is a shame i can only view"

Be assured, my Lord, that DAL is as dedicated as I to your cause as our existence would otherwise be worthless.

Your obedient servant

Lads,

AND THE RESULTS ARE IN

JAP - Time Crisis 2 - Plays fine no sound problem
PAL - Time Crisis 2 - Plays fine no sound problem

NTSC Devil May Cry - Plays fine no sound problem

Please note these are DVD RIPS and play on my PAL version 4 ps2 with the NEO2.2 mod. I also use a BLAZE scart lead which goes through my Dolby Pro-logic sound system, onto my widescreen Tv

I cant find any sound faults with these games, like i say i have quite a few games so post me some more to try.

Sorry Gunblade, i think your ps2 needs to be sent back and replaced, is this an option??

Cheers

Dal

p.s. Charlie thanks for putting that bit from my email to Gunblade talk to ya soon

I don't think I can replace the console.
I already chipped it, so I guess I'm screwed.
Unless you have a solution for that?
Anyway, I appriciate you checking this for me, Dal. Thank you very much.
But I guess I was destined to have a screwed up console after it took me so long to manage and buy one.. Argh!!

One of the things that often need doing when a modchip is fitted is recalibration of the laser. In another reply I've pointed to a site that will help you do this. It will do no harm. My laser was recalibrated when the OrigaChip was fitted.

Hi,

That could sort your problem out, does the ps2 play music and DVD movies okay???

if it has problems playing a DVD movie then the lazer needs sorting.

Well, DVD's and Music CD's are working perfectly.
Even game music and several voices works perfectly, but there are certain sounds this happens to me with.
