hmm...is the cd pot adjusting complicated?!?! is there some kind of manual for that task online?? i really have no idea about console tuning and stuff...

btw: it is still strange that SOME ps1 games Do work...

Its not real hard but try the laser cleaning first and see if that helps. If not we can assist you online with the pot adjustment.

hi again,

i tried a cleaning cd just 2 mins ago...and my ps2 has even problems playing the music on that cd!!!!!!!!!!! the cd hangs every 2 mins.....
so is there anybody who can give me a "ps2 pot adjustment for dummies" tutorial.....if possible with pictures...i hate it! my freidn doesnt care about ps1 games, and his ps2 woks fine! live is not fair!

Take the screws out from the bottom of the PS2. Lift of the top, and unhook the Reset/Eject buttons. Remove the 4 small screws from the top of the DVD Drive. Unscrew the small black screw holding the right sled pole in. Slide the laser out. Look on the side of the laser, it should have a model number; KHS-400A/B/C/R

Really we need this info to tell you what pot to adjust...

The instructions are ALL over the place, search and find a multimeter. 1/16 of a turn too far = toasted laser.

really?! well then i think its better to let a professional do it...it would be the FIRST console tuning on my behalf...and i dont need a toasted laser....

Don't you have a multimeter? They're quite cheap. You can do it without, but be extremely careful, and if your lasers pretty knackered anyway, what have you go to lose???
