I agree, learn how to really fix securom, not doing dirty fixes....."proper, repack, crackfix..."

Knowledge is king, man

These days a crackers idea of "fixing" is dumping ~30 MB of memory, of which 29 MB is blank, appending it as a section to the exe, fixing a couple of pitiful checks, missing a couple in the process, and then packing it with UPX to keep the size down and to not have any of the conflicting memory with dll trouble.

Sad to see how low things have gone, especially when securom is far from the realm of impossible to fix it in a better way.

heh yeh though some dont even do the section thing
they dump, and then put some poxy loader code in the exe to load their memory dumps to the same memory area (if they're lucky that is)...

The threads about RE4's poor graphics go on to talk about how DMC3 was in the same situation, but that the patches have added back many of the missing effects.

It would be nice to know how much is missing from the PC version of DMC3 when compared to the PS2 version.

Which gamepad problems do you have?
There is an extra tool for the gamepad.
I hope you already looked into it

At http://patches.ubi.com/devil_may_cry_3/
US and EURO versions are available...

Both have securom protected exe, did not bother to check if it is working with Daemon since I have original disc...

...AND if you copy Japanese DMC3SE.exe game works flawlessly, did binary compare and all files are the same EXCEPT jap version have one additional file id6818.pac but I assume this is only needed for JAP version since in EUR/US exes id6818.pac is mentioned inside files also but not installed..plus, oc, readme files are in english. Point is - JAP exe is the same as EUR/US version but without securom. You can install JAP patch and you'll get the same thing..

Regards

I installed the Euro patch and got it running with the Mini-Image.
Used latest Daemon Tools (no emulation) to mount the image and YASU to hide the image from Securom.
I had to disable EZPlay in Blindwrite to get it to run.
I originally installed the Jap Patch too but wanted the Euro Patch installed just so I could read the gamepad tool help file. Not that it makes any difference.
Much easier to use the Jap Patch. :-)
