Maybe it is not a cd check by securom but by runaway 2 itself like in runaway 1

I dont have the german version，but I have the english version.
The english version will check file(s) in disk when it run.
I think the german version also need check file.
so i create another maxi-image, it fixed from bended's maxi-image and english version image.

i dont test the maxi-image, because i only have english version.

maby it can be worked.

- Install the game - Full Installation
- Mount the ns-Runaway2_maxi-poseden.mds Image in Daemon Tools v4.08
- Run YASU 1.03/1.04
- Play the Game!

I looked at reloadeds English crack and think if you change bytes at offset 0x00015CC0 in the file from 81 EC 08 02 to 33 C0 40 C3 it may make it NoDVD, It might crash it too but it looked about the right place for the DVD check

Can't test as the UK version is not released till the middle of next month, I think Canada and Australia have English versions in stores now, lucky bastards

Ok, today I got this game started!!! This is for the german users:
To get the game started:

1. Download an unpack the fixed image from gamecopyworld.
2. Now start the game using Daemon Tools 4.08 (you need two Virtual Drives) and Yasu 1.04.
3. When you're asked for the "Runaway 2 DVD", press the "Windows-Key" (next to the "Alt" Key. Now the game should be minimized to the tray.
4. Now its time to load the image from which you installed "Runaway 2" into the other Virtual Drive. (Alternatively you can put your Backup-DVD into a drive.)
5. Now you click on "Runaway 2" in your taskbar to maximize it again.

Now the game loads and you can play the game!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!

P.S.: It is exactly what poseden said - the german game checks some files or one file (I don't know) on the games dvd. When you mount the "Installer Image" after the game has started (as described above) the game will continue!

No need to Alt+Tab when using two virtual drives, first vdrive: Bender image, second: Poseden

P.S.: ... and no need to have two drives/images when using full image

Your 44(+10) sectors-image doesn't pass Securom check (though mds is the same), "only" ingame check.
What are they looking for

I dont know！i dont have german version, so i dont know the german version how to work.
If must mount 2 images, then not need my maxi-image, only a "45 sectors mini-image" is ok.

Yes, a "45 sector MINI" does pass ingame check

Just to sort that out as a reason why your MAXI doesn't pass Securom check: The 45 sectors are identical in german and UK version

Yes, I did, But unfortunately the RELOADED crack is just a fixed exe, not a NoDVD, meaning I need a mini/maxi image to play without the game's DVD.

Check my post a page back, if you know how to use a hex editor you might want to be a 'Guinea Pig' for trying the NoDVD hack

You could also download Mini-Image Ripper on this page and make your own as I think that will work due to it not needing to rip any protection:

OK, I patched the reloaded crack and uploaded it to Turboupload:

Download it, use WinRAR to extract the file and copy it to your game directory then test it and see if it works! Make a backup of the Runaway2.exe so you can replace it if the crack does not work.

As for making a mini-image, seeing as I don't have the game I can't make one! If you don't know how to make an ISO image of your DVD then mini-image ripper won't help you.

Wow, You must be very smart, since it Works!!, I did manage to get the game started (using german mini image, didnt check without it) got past the difficult screen (after i clicked on "play runaway from the beginning" it didn't ask for a DVD!) and then the movies started.. since i still didnt have time to start playing i just watched the movies and it works! i can't give further details on stuff like chpaters>1 or save/load but it looks good! i will also try to make the mini-image you suggested (i do know how to do it) and check how it goes with it.

Smart? Not really, someone taught me that trick to patch some CD/DVD checks, so the 'smart one' is the person who showed me

I think the DVD check kicks in when loading a save game, Zulu mentioned it did this when he tried loading a save game, so try saving/loading a game to truly test it!
