Unfortunately it's getting more and more racism here. People who have a degree from some college and know how to do the job won't get it because someone that doesn't look foreign wanted it too.

I think gettting a job should be dependant on how much knowledge one has about it not skincolor or where you're born.

Still I think it is kinda cool in sweden in terms of accepting foreigners but there's more and more racism building up and who knows what might happen.

But on the good side is the fact that most young people have no problems with foreigners and accepts them easily. So I hope that in the future (aka when I get old, foreigners will have it easier here in sweden)

Since your aim is to learn english, I took the liberty of correcting your post. Is this helpful or should I stop doing it ?

I think it's all down to where does your language and the one you want to learn come from, for example, for a spaniard, it's a lot easier to learn italian than say german, since both spanish and italian come from latin, although that's not always the case, for example german and english are both germanic languages yet they are both very different right?

English is kind of a cleaned up German: no sexes, almost no suffixes. Learning English is simple, no matter what language you knew already; learning German may be difficult, no matter what language you knew already.

I'm told the simplicity of English partially comes from the fact that people in the British Empire, that took over a significant portion of the world, "simplified" the language with their awful grammar and pronounciation.

Learning German is indeed way harder than learning Spanish (not easy though), there are many Germans that do have huge problems with properly speaking their mother tongue
Sure, there are always stupid people unable to speak in their native language, but in England (oh sorry, Great Britain) it's most likely not as bad at all

That's what I meant, it's harder to really excel in German, Russian, ... than in English...

Some corrections:
- I was talking about non-native English speakers raping the English language to what it is now...
- Not "England" (not only Englishmen but also Scots and Welshmen) but not even "Great Britain" (not only Brits but also Irishmen - at least, at this moment); correctly it is United Kingdom! (Oh, make that -persons, not -men! )

I don't agree as learning italian was way easier for me than learning english (and i can speak for most spaniards since english is a mandatory class in spanish schools).

Oh and, you forgot Gibraltar, which ain't part of the UK/GB (i think, right?) but it's a big political mess :P

Learning french was difficult for me with all the conjugations , but I also didn´t try hard. I can easily understand the french language but can´t speak very well.
