dont believe those idiots that are saying they have the total overdose crack.
they are lying and they will send you a keylogger or a trojan.
there is still no crack for total overdose (not public and not private)
only the cd emulator crack types.

Whose to say that nobody did their own?

You dont have to be in a group or in the scene to make a crack.

And whats not to say there isnt a private crack out there.

You telling me your like the ultimate SiteOp?

Do you know what iD Software said when they were asked when DOOM (yes, the first one) would be released? "When it's finished." Now, you could ask iD Software publicly about such infos. Can you ask cracker groups about when a no-CD patch would be finished? No, you can't. I leave the final conclusion to you.

When will people get it into their heads that there is no obligation by anyone to release cracks for games! Have some of you got your head up your A$$ or didn't know about all the scene busts a while ago that caused groups to disband and crackers to retire from the scene because of this? Do you think they *OWE* you anything by risking jail or heavy fines because some kiddie is whinning they can't find a crack like some spoiled brat who demands a new toy everytime mummy goes shopping?

Cracks will get released only *IF* a group or individual *DECIDES* that they want to release one, not because someone whines and bitches on some forum that there is no crack!

Why do some people automatically *ASSUME* that groups or individuals *MUST* make cracks for games then *RELEASE* them to the *PUBLIC* so warez kiddies can use their pirated game they just copied off a mate or downloaded?

Let's face it, I guess the vast majority of people whinning about lack of cracks are those with illegally downloaded copies that either can't burn a working copy or can't get the complicated 'No Disc' methods to work! No wonder groups don't want their releases going public when ungrateful bastards just bitch at them because there is no crack on the same day a particular game is released!

Tell you what, grab a book on Windows Programming, Win API's, programming for WinXP/2K/2003 etc, learn assembly and some C/C++ programming, get your head around Soft Ice, IDA or Olly to do some serious reversing, learn about CD protections and how they work, spend a few years honing your skills and learning how to crack and sharing this info with trusted friends or on other forums to gain more knowledge, then form a 'cracking group' and release a few cool games then everytime you see someone whining about why you haven't cracked this game or that game, just think about what you've had to do to be able to crack games and say to yourself "What a bunch of F*cking ungrateful W*NKERS!"

Now tell me why people think they have a right to *DEMAND* cracks?

VERY VERY well said! This should go on a sticky if I had the option to do so. Nobody has to do anything out there in the cracking world. I am an ex-cracker from a organization and let me tell you it's a scary place when the feds are listening and watching. I never wanted to leave my house, but I did and waved everytime I passed the "Gas Company" van. lol, gas company in the middle of knowhere that I lived. Right. Good cover idiots.

So, long story short ... I stopped it all and let me tell you that the schemes that Total Overdose has come out with are pretty amazing. I looked into the exe and its very tight. It used to be that just load up Alcohol120% and you could play anything. Heck, look at what The Sims2 did, that really revolutionized how they were doing security. Now, I think that was cracked without the use of Alcohol120 but I might be wrong. Either way groups don't spend time on games that COULD suck. One poster was right, they don't like wasting time on games that could potentially suck and you look at eachother and say "well we thought it looked good". However games like NHL2k6, Madden, The Sims, Half Life 2, and others are sure fire winners. But taking a chance on an Eido game? Yeah, it's a gamble.

So just sit back and use some work arounds, they might not be pretty and if you get confused then don't play. Oh, and I just got an update here is a place that has the crack to download: Total Overdose Crack | -Works-

Lata,

This game is retarted.

I have played it only for a few minutes here and got everything setup to find out it's like a bad Third Person Shooter. If you like the first person where you look down the barrel of the gun then this game is NOT for you. Actually stop reading this and go play HL2 or Battlefield2. Now, if you dig the third person shooter then it's almost as "great" as Cold Fear.

Don't take my word for all of it though, go out and waste your money/time for yourself.

I guess I went into RANT mode there a bit

I just thought it needed to be said and it's not aimed at anyone in particular or intentionally meant to offend anyone, it was just to bring peoples attention to some of the reasons cracks are not being released, as chads2k2 knows from experience by reading his post!

Cracks are like Duke Nukem Forever, no one knows when or if they'll get released

Heh. Actually, I find it pretty interesting to see the new anti-copy/crack methods being employed; they're quite damn ingenious and the coding has a LOT to teach you if you're a programmer. It's always been an arms race, so why be surprised or unduly upset when one side grabs an advantage..? That's what they DO! And previous posts have it spot-dead-on: if you're so dead-set on some hard-to-find crack for a game, learn to code one yourself, buy the game, or learn how to use Antiblaxx, VirtualCDHide, SFCure, and other wonky ways to get 'em to fly . Don't wanna do that? Then, *ahem*, go polish yer pope, cuz you're NOT going to be playin'!

You would not believe the time I had, for example, getting Trackmania: Sunrise and Splinter Cell 3 to run w/o owning an USB 2.0 external DVD! Erm, well, knowing this forum, mebbe you would . It was still nearly as much fun (and yes, I honestly mean "fun") trying to figure out how to get them to not require the disks - and yes, I actually BOUGHT them both - as coding a crack might've been, in a weird way. It was the "puzzle" quality of it, just like my favorite times programming.

@BarryB: Absolutely agreed! Even more, I think something like "don't whine for cracks, they will be available on GCW when they become available at all; refer to Nforce etc. before requesting" should be added to the forum rules.

And/or, perhaps, the two weeks rule could now be extended to at least, two months, and anyone breaking the rule should be banned right away. There's just too much whining and other noise on this forum and pretty much no useful information...

I think I've dragged this thread offtopic

To go offtopic once more (and risk the wrath of the mods):

Not all cracks get reported on NFOrce Joe, most of them, but not all!

I agree that people shouldn't be complaining because a crack is not available, it's simply not up to GCW and it's staff to make cracks, I guess some people think that we are here to *MAKE* cracks for games and this is where the confusion sets in.

The 2 week rule is a compromise I think, not all games get released at the same time so 2 weeks maybe gives a new game time to be released in other countries.

And as Bozobub says, protections are getting more complex and the solutions to counter them more complex as well, these lead to methods that can potentially screw up someones PC and so proper 'cracks' are thin on the ground, hence people whining for them because they can't/won't follow these complex methods.

To be honest, it's a lot easier to put in your original CD/DVD and wait for a crack. Instead, as Joe says, people just bitch and fill up threads with useless posts.

Hey I beat the game

Hey,

I played the game all the way through and I would like to revise my opinion about it. The story line does fully suck. That hasn't changed, the graphics still could be better. The physics of the driving is etrocious (spelling?), and generally the game plays in a manner that would be compared to a kid who just got a new firetruck on christmas. Running around and wondering what the hell your doing.

I do have to say though, that the moves are cool. The bullet dodging is excellent and is the best I have seen. Yes MaxPayne2 was good but this takes it a step further. Well done Eidos. The "Loco Moves" in this one are sweet, and very creative! I just wish they would implement them into the story better. That link I sent you is the ultimate crack, it's called buying it, I did and I also suggest doing the same. It will make a Total Overdose 2 and that might be worth something. I already put in a few emails to a few Eidos guys I know and told them the problems. No word back yet (not a big surprise, they might actually be working! hahahha). This game is addictive and keeps you interested. I would suggest though playing with PiZZa's trainer. Damn they make good stuff. It makes the game much more enjoyable and is still hard. That is when you know a game programmatically is well done or not. Oh, and the one who commented about the ingenious coding. I have to agree. My goodness the schemes are amazing.

Take care and go learn something,
