I thought this also happens to them with the original disks .. that's why it's in the General Gaming instead of the PC Games Forum.

Signed up just to give you guys the official Activision fix for the game. It worked for me and I had the blackout screen at the menu with the original discs and Alcohol installed.

I found a solution here =)
Just switch the resolution to 1024x768 or 1280x1024 by editing registry. Btw I had exactly the same issue with Master of Orion 3, with an ATI radeon and a flat panel display. |

After starting Vampire my monitor simply shuts down... is that the same problem you discussed here? |

I think I heard somewhere that LCDs shouldn't go over 60.
Try forcing to 60Hz and see what happens.
