Cool Duo 2 Question?

Whats up ppl!

Im just curious, i've had my flip-top for like 3months, and i, umm, wanna get a modchip installed now (no comments! )

Is the new Duo 2 Special edition good? cause I can get it for $100 installed where I live.

Or any other suggestions or better modchips that wont be dangerous to the PS2?

(I have a v5/v6 ps2, not sure which of the 2 it is)

Thanks!

You can check out the mod chip sticky located in the ultimate sticky info. That will give you some info on different mod chips but to answer your question on is a duo2 good. Yes its ok for its price but you also said 100 for chip and install which is a bit on the high side. I guess if you dont have to ship it anywhere, its pretty close to what it would cost if you had shipping on top of the install cost. There are other chips that are better but thats only if you want high end features.
I use the Duo and it suits my needs.
Duo2 is a good choice!

Stay well away from Duo chips dude

All they are is the ice homebrew code slapped into a cheap chinese made PCB

Loads of problems abound with them and console death is very common due to the 'homemade' nature of the code

Get a proper mod and stop supporting the code thief people

Where do you think all code for any chip comes from??? 'homemade' nature HA, what do you think some robot made the code? All code is home made in every chip, it’s not like any chip is really an industrial version with signed code or something.

What you said is correct about the Duo2 using ICE code, but only to a point. It’s modified ICE code and if you really want to know something about code, most chips at some point use bits and pieces of code taken from other people’s previous work. I do think that it would have been nice of the Omega team to at least mention this on there site some place and give credit where credit is do. But it’s not like they are ripping them off and making a killing on the code, or over inflating the price while using someone else’s code, look how little it costs to buy a Duo2 chip.

As for the chip killing a PS2 where is your proof? This is the first I have ever heard of something like this. I have installed more Duo's then you will probably ever see in your life and never had a problem like you are suggesting.

Maybe he has been using the clone chips and had loads of problems with them?
