The Official Sacred 1.5 Crack Thread. Don't make other threads about this.

First of all:
Thanks for making a Sacred sticky thread. It really sucked to see these lots of new threads emerge every day, where people were asking the same over and over again.

And now my question:
This new 50 MB kinda workaround will strip off the copy protection, but you still have to use a CD? Am I right?
That would solve all my problems...since German patch 1.0.3.8, Sacred doesn't recognize my CD anymore.
It's because of this damn Fujitsu burner, on my other PC it runs well. But that's no use, I want to play it with my wife.
Ascaron isn't able to help, as it seems. No support after emailing them the problem, although I included account name and CD key.

There could be one problem...the UK/US version checks for CD 1, the German version for CD 2. Is this "crack" also usable for the German version, anyone tried it out yet?

its not a crack for the game, it's just a patch for the deviance release of sacred to make it a working backup ,you need the cd 1 from the deviance release to make it work like a original cd ,i dont think it makes any sense without it.

Ive stopped bothering with cracks.

I installed 1.5 UK over the US version, i enabled all emulations options on the latest freeware deamon emulation, and i just launch the game. It messes with CP stuff about 45 seconds and then lets me in, everytime.

From what I understood this 1.5 patch/workaround is for the "Deviance release" of sacred. This is the warez ISO or whatever. Is there a way for people who have the original game to play without the CD?
Not with a virtual drive, not with a backup CD. Just without having to fetch the CD everytime you want to play.

The other problem is that you have to uninstall Nero and other programs to make it work.
This is more of a pain than it's worth.

(Sacred 1.5 won't detect the original CD in my writer and the other driver is a stupid creative DVD that you have to eject/insert 5-10 times for anything to work in it)

I don't beleive you have to uninstall Nero. As I play the game just fine with Nero installed, albiet an older version. What you DO have to do however is turn off any virtual drives you have, no matter which application manages them. And I think alchohol 120 regardless, though I personally don't know (burned my CD on a machine with Alchohol, and then played it on another).

As for a straight up no-CD crack...well this work around is the best thats out right now unfortunately.

Why is there not a no-cd crack for 1.5?
It's precisely games like this with tedious/buggy copy protect that need a no-cd crack.

And, btw, I DO own a legal copy of the game----the UK version.

I don't know much about who the cracking groups are, but it seems they are the same people who do warez releases. I assume the reason they make cracks is to put them on their warez ISOs or BINs (read an NFO file and you will see the instructions are to "burn the .bin and .cue" and then copy the cracked exe or whatever. It's almost as if the way to get cracks is from the "deviance" folder in ISOs themselves.

Since they already released a mod to their ISO, I doubt that there will be any future cracks to 1.5 or any version that can see through the DAEMON TOOLS workaround.

Why would deviance release a 50+ MB workaround to an ISO instead of cracking an EXE? Maybe because it would work on all future releases. (They wouldn't have to crack this game again until a new protection comes out)

How many people are out there cracking games for us non-warez users? If you know anybody, ask them to crack it. I tried learning to crack things, got as far as replacing a single byte and then gave up - too much work just to wait a week for GCW to host the crack.

It wasn't deviance which released that 50 MB patch. It was the work of just one random guy so near as I can tell. And it's really a work of art either, as so near as I can tell, he just used a program that compares files, and makes a patch to make one file like the other. Then compared the deviance rip to a 1:1 rip to make that 50 MB patch.

Emulation seems the ONLY thing that works right now. If you want to go that way, I suggest you use Alcohol120% with the VOB Protectcd 5 option to make the image, and mount the image in Daemon Tools 3.46 (RPMS emulation enabled). I know at least one guy who has successfully done this and can play this way. The fact that there still isn't a crack out for ANY patch seems to bode ill for any future patches, so try emulation...

Edit : I forgot to add, make sure you UNINSTALL Alcohol120% and any other virtual cd programs EXCEPT Daemon Tools 3.46 before trying to mount the image and play the game. At this moment, only Daemon Tools 3.46 can bypass the copy protections' blacklist. So use A120% to make the image, and use DT 3.46 to mount it. I'm sure a future version of A120% will also bypass the blacklist.

I have tried the workaround for the Sacred 1.5 Patch to get it work without any crack. It works for me, but only one time. I installed sacred, update to 1.5, de-install Alcohol 120, install new Daemon tool, enable RPMS emulation and the game starts... but only for one time After i restart my OS the game will start again...

Speaking of Sacred cracks, is it possible that the American version will get a gore crack some day? I would like to play the uncensored version without having to pay 10 extra bucks for shipping.
