Backing Up Xbox Games

Ok..I made the transition to Xbox now after some time with the PS2 consoles. While PS2 uses CDRWin and other burning software to backup PS2 games what does Xbox use? I'm also reading about this Evox..do i need this also or can i backup a xbox dvd with software like recordnow? Can i just place an xbox dvd into my pc and backup it up using recordnow? I want to make copies in case my originals get scratched up. Any help would be appreciated.
