Well since youve shown you have the ability to open up your ps2. Can you look and see what chip you have? Most chips have their name on them.

o i did all the work from bottom up if i was to take the plate off that covers the chip i would have to unsloder my fan which took me 2 hours to do and i would might have to unhook the laser last time i did that i broke the snaper pice off and the ribbon would not stay in i think i will ask some of his other customers if they know to be on the save side

yeah its a smart chip pro its a green chip i tryed to post a pic here but it loads about 5 mins then says PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED grrrrr that makes me mad its been doing that alot when i try and post a topic i tryed loading the pic twice with no luck.

Hey Evu Evu I got a New Atari Game Today Thats cool that you got your v5 or v12 or whatever it was that Smart Chip thing doesent sound very good i bet it wont do a thing in my atari it dosent have the power to withstand the Grahpical Complexity Polygon Count Of my Atari 1400

hmmm the V9 smart chip is usually black... same as the BlueX-5
but it does not take away the PS2 logo on originals when not wired correctly or in PS1 mode.

netmech called it a smartchip pro so it must eather be a clone of a smartchip or just a pro version

Yeah - I have been to his site - and they do show them as green... which is strange as I thought he and evomods were affiliated - and evomods use black smartchips... but hey - if it works - who cares what colour it is!

I totally agree - was just trying to tone down my post so that I did not step on anyones toes....
(if you had seen an email I got today from a certain person you would understand why.... Nemtech seems nice though - the email was not from him - just to clarify!) Just checked - yep evolutionmods.com are still doing black PCB smart chips... They list americanmodz.com as their US reseller - but NEMTECH supplies green PCBs... either it is an old picture he is using or they just share the code and get them produced in different locations...
