OK, I just read a whole bunch of post all over the forums here. very good stuff. I was wundering where can I get a mini/maxi Image file for TW ? I dont have the Kane expansion yet. Im gonna wait a couple of weeks before i order it. And if im gonna play online i just mount the mini/maxi with dameon. do I still need the no-cd .dat patch ? can i still play single player skirmishes/campaign with the mini image, or do i need to have the .dat patch for single player stuff, and the mini/maxi for online ? I know this sounds like alot of questions, but you guy's really no your shit. and I am trying to learn

EDIT* All have been able to find would be a torrent or possibly from a warez site or something.as far as image files go. I would be better off making my own, huh ? I have nero , alcohol 120 (probably a little older version tho.) Magic iso. think thats it what one is better for this. Im not as worried about disk space altho smaller is better.

torrent / warez = bad idea, you'll be out of here very quickly..

mini/maxi image of the game should be on gamecopyworld.. try searching for it.. using mini/maxi image means you don't need the no-cd...

i suggest you read the faq as it might help clear some of your confusion

For online play, you should not use a crack. A mini/maxi image is recommended. Also the original serial number is always checked.

Well, I used the no-cd .dat from gcw. Single player campaign worked flawlessly. altho the game did crash when i did a level restart just once. said somethin about a problem with cncgame.dat. But i think that was just my pc reacting screwy cuz i played for like 5 more hours after that. with multiple restarts, and it didnt happen again.

mm as for the mini/max image I did spend quite a bit of time searching for one but maybe im just not seeing it??

Im not goin for a ban. I do own the Game !! I havent tried playing online yet.
I'll search out for the m/m image some more.

Thanx guy's for being helpful.....

I'' Be Back (im sure haha)

EDIT* ok I think i found it all.

http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games...Wars%20v1.0%20[MULTI2]%20No- DVD/Fixed%20Image C&C 3: Tiberium Wars v1.0 [MULTI2] No-DVD/Fixed Image from gcw.

http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware....shtml#Y.A.S.U for the YASU program.

now I should be able to get it working online

also I have dameon 3.47 not 4.08. is that a problem or do i need to upgrade? (never mind Yasu doesnt work with 3.47)(I DO have to use YASU for online play tho. right ??
I have used 3.47 for everything even supreme commander (altho just single player never online.) with no problems ever.

I dont mean to be a Pain in the Ass, but what would you guy's do without noobs like me..

if you're using vista, do NOT use daemon 3.47, and yep yasu only works with 4.x i think (latest version that is...)..

for online play, basically if you can get the game running on your pc (without using a no-cd .dat file.. which is really an exe renamed..) using just the mini / maxi image and daemon / alcohol / whatever and the original exe, then you'll most likely (99.9%) be able to play online without any problems

Nice Got it all working with the daemon lite 4.3XX or whatever. and YASU. Didn't realize i need Yasu running even if im not playing online. But everything works great, I think the game runs smoother now also. even smoother than with the .dat patch. I wonder why ?
any way thanks for the help...

Now is there any way you could direct me to a how to mod this game. after playing it I find some things need to be changed to balance out the game play for me. and while there are some really good mods out there. most people have a different Ideas as to what needs to be changed... so I would like to create my own mod basically just concerning build costs, build times, and a few other things. thanks for the help again guy's...

NoCD/DVD Help

Noob Here. Ive been around the site a bit but couldnt make heads or tails of it so i figured id post here and appreciate the help if any given.

Ive installed C&C 3 TW, in the C/Electronic Arts/C&C3/
there is an icon labelled ...CNC3.exe

Then theres a folder called RetailEXE/1.9 in which there is a file labelled
...cnc3game.dat

I have downloaded the NoCD/DVD Fixed EXE 1.9 Version. Have a couple of questions need answering please.

a) In the file which i downloaded from gamecopyworld, the .rar archive contains two files. One is an update which i dont need i think (correct me if im wrong), the other is ...cnc3game.dat.

Do i extract the cnc3game.dat in C/Electronic Arts/C&C3/
or
C/Electronic Arts/C&C3/RetailEXE/1.9

b) Can i extract the cnc3game.dat on my desktop and then copy and paste into the relevant folder, or do i have to extract it in the specified folder?

c) This question is derived from what 'Unohu69' wrote,
Unohu69...does your game run smoother in single player too when you have the mini/maxi dump? Have you worked out why the .dat file doesnt make it run smoother?

d) Finally just out of curiosity, the .dat file in the downloaded GCW file is is three times larger than the .dat already located in my CNC3 file. Why is that?

a) The crack comes with a .nfo file open it up in notepad to see instructions

b) You can copy and paste or extract it direct

c) cant answer that

d) the .dat file is in essence an executable, its been unprotected and unwrapped so its size has grown since then.

Cheers

Thank You DabHand for such a precise and speedy response. The nfo file said this...

Instructions

Update with included update, copy our crack over then play.

The rest was a copy and paste of the bug fixes.
I wasnt sure what it meant so thought id post and check.

Thanks

BUT.....

a) WHere do i copy the .dat file? In the RetailEXE Folder or just in the main CNC folder?

ANSWER

Just copied it over the .dat in the RetailEXE file and it loads up. Havnt started a game yet but gonna assume it all works!

Thanks! This is bloody brilliant im absolutely loving this! Its so ace i love it! No CD/DVD woohoo!

Hello, i figure because the .dat file was larger then original maybe that took extra time to load ?? not really sure. I dont know anything about programing so out of my area.

i have had no problems so far playing single player. other than im stuck in Alexandria. playing on hard difficulty but i just cant seem to get past this level..

if you updated the original already fine just copy the .dat over the in the retail/1.9 folder.

second question tho. I bought my game opened from a online store, that said the game was never registered. however when i tryd to register it with EA they said it already was registered ?? and the wouldnt let me choose my user name. on one screen it said their was no user name like the one i chose, then it said it was already in use ?? even tried different variations with the same effect. i had to pick one of the suggestions the had for me to get it to move forward in the registration process.

if I contact EA what are my chances they'll give me a new key ????

The .dat file is larger because it has been uncompressed. (It runs actually faster than the original because the all kinds of shit that the copy protection contains is not executed anymore.)

EA has a bad reputation when it comes to (all kinds of) user support. If you think your key has been stolen (would be nothing new, unfortunately) and would like to get things straight then, by all means, contact them but make sure to have some proof of purchase (original box, manual, DVD, invoice/bill/receipt etc.) handy as well as your refrigerator stuffed with food for a few weeks...

Alright, I've read through this thread, and cannot find my issue specifically. I am not extremely computer literate, but I try.
I have installed successfully, and am using DAEMON Manager V4.08HE to emulate. I also overwrote the .dat file with the cracked .dat. When I go to play I get an error: 'Conflict with Emulation Software detected.'.
Any ideas?

go here http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware....shtml#Y.A.S.U for the YASU program. Download yasu run it before you start your game. it will make the game think your daemon tools is a real drive. I get the same msg when I forget to run yasu

I downloaded Yasu and updated DAEMON Tools. It fixed my first problem.
Now I'm getting a different error: 'Please insert the original disc instead of a backup.'
