edit. It says my game need an update. But it won't update, it gives me a "Try again later".

Does the update work when you don't use the nocd?

i tryed to copy the filles in my steam directory with my steam.exe. the halflife2(icon)file is the right size and is copyd in my <steamaccount> alswel. still i got error: game currently not available. then i download the torrent one but cant open it. what prog do i need? i tryed to install bigtorrent (i dont now if its the right prog for it) and i cant install it unless i make a donation with visa or something (witch i dont want to do). plz help me

im having some serious issues with this, or my cracked hl2.exe or something.

i get a "cant connect to steam" issue about 2 mins after i am in the game, and then if i click ok, the game closes.

if i dont click ok, it plays for about 5 mins tops, and then gives me some memory dump errors and the game crashes.

but NOW, since trying this hijack stuff and all this, all my folders on ALL my drives are read-only and wont change back..

so, im a little upset, and i dont know what could have caused this. formatting isnt exactly what i wanted to do before i played this game.

To get it working again why dont you put your original files back where they were and delete Hijacks files for now (just until you get it back to working order) Get it back to all original first, then go back to hijacks files!
Not that I am going to tell you how to do it, just yet anyway, but dont go formatting your drive just because your files have changed to Read Only!! They can be fixed!

i bought the 5 cd version but i hate having to put the damn cd in drive to play everytime...i tried the hijackhl2 thingy and it dont work...followed the instructions perfectly...i go to load hl2 and then it gives me an error saying this game is currently unavailable...

any ideas?

I used the bit-torrent appication in order to get the NoCD v.1.5 of Hijack but I cannot download it because the link is dead.

Can anyone send me this new version because with version 1 I could play my DVD version of Half Life 2 offline.

Ok, i have a problem, but i think i am not alone, but i will also ask it again:

I have buy the Collector´s edition of Hl2, but i dont want to install Steam or aktivat Hl2 with Steam. So i try the Target21 - Steamless Fix. At the Beginnig the Crack works, but one day later i will load a saved Game und the Game crashed and go back to windows. the Error says that he lost the connection zo the Steamnetwork. So i search in the net for a fix, but i dont find something!

Can anybody help me ???

so i have the retail version. the only problem is that i don't have internet, isn't there some crack that makes me play hl2 without the steam or something that make steam execute in offline mode???? please i cannot play i bought it 3 weeks ago!!!!

It clearly says on the box that an Internet Connection is required!
Go to a friends house who has Internet connection (or go wherever you used the internet to post your question) and activate it from there. You only need an Internet connection to activate but you dont need the internet to actually play.
There is an article on the Steam website on how to do this!
