true crime
i have a pb with true crime..i wanted to make a backup of it...so first i copied all of the DVD game from the x-box to my PC (using FTP program). Then i used dexbe to patch the default.xbe file...then i used Xiso to make my iso-file and then used RecordNow Max to burn...the backup is starting until the first screen where it says "Activision" and "true crime",but then it doesn't go any further...why?
afterwards i put the game on HDD, used dexbe to patch my .xbe file(otherwise it doesnt run on HDD with HDDloader1.0)...and there it works....so where is the difference between burning directly from the dvd or putting on HDD... Do i have to copy the game from HDD to my PC before doing my iso or how can i backup my game? Thanks a lot |

it may be a problem with the iso. personally believe iso's are crap
i recomend you use the data burn method and use isocaxtion to patch |

Why so harsh. Ive made 68 games using ISO's. None have been crap. Heck lemaladefou's prob may have been a dirty or scratched original disc or maybe he left his firewall up when transfering. Anything. Tyler!

isocraxtion is a programme that can create multi game dvd's for the xbox it also has the best patch engine available.
like i said i recomend you DO NOT use a iso try burning the patched game to dvd using the DATA BURN method. |

I dont think the patching program matters I used to do it via hex editer myself. Then eventually I just got the ADR patcher with the latest checks to patch it for me.
As for me I never use Data Burn and here are some reasons: Takes longer to read in your xbox when playing. Doesnt put the files in the correct order like the original disc. My favorite Iso maker is SimpleXiso, I used to use IsoMaker but got persuaded to use SimpleXiso. Tyler!

If you really want to use ISOs then I'd get Craxtion. It's got the best xbe patcher out there and it also makes ISOs perfectly. It also gives you the ability to create muli-disc games so it's hands down a great program just to have
(interesting side note...I was talking to this customer in my store about xboxes and we got on the discussion of modding them. I told him I use craxtion for a lot of my xbox stuff and he didn't believe me. I had to literally tell him about all the times I used it and he just smiled and was like "I crated Craxtion. I just had to re-encode 3.1 the other day due to a bug in it." It was really cool cuz he asked me if I ever had any problems and it just was a really interestinc conversation) Anyway I think your problem is Xiso. it's notoriously problematic. I use the Data burn and they come out fine. |

The pleasure is all mine. Its actually really exciting to meet people out there that have used my application and give me feedback and what not unless I meet someone who HATES it
Anyway - I am always open for new ideas or what not so I will be around. LepPpeR - Team Craxtion --I will be signing autographed copies of Craxtion on Friday, 11/28 in NYC. Just kidding-- |

hi
although i'v just this minute joined this forum, i have been reading post's on here for about 3 weeks now, which has been very helpful. special thanx for those who are willing to help by replying to post, which help others like myself when browsing. i'v spent a couple of months reading up, and finally downloaded craxtion 3.1 , which i found was easy straight forward and fantastic program. although it was only last week i had a X-BIT chip & 120gig HD , and EvoX installed. It was my first attempt to FTP my PC & X-Box . Backed up 1 of my games to my PC's HD and used Craxtion to create an ISO , which automatically patched the game. used recordnow max to burn the ISO onto DVD-R , played game without a problem. my first attempt and it felt good, i mean GOOD....!!!! the more u read, the more knowledge, the more u get hooked. and it dont stop there...!!!!

Tried craxation 3.1 and what do ya know, it does very well. I like the way it patches ahead of time then makes an ISO.
Althought it did seem to take a while to patch just 4 xbe's. Unless its actually searching the rest of the files as well. Tyler!

It really depends on the size of the .xbe it is patching. If it is the DashUpdate.xbe (I believe around 50 megs) then yes, it will take a couple of seconds but the smaller ones should take a second or two.
Glad you are enjoying it and that it is working for you. Feel free to ask questions as you please. LepPpeR - Team Craxtion |

Hi LepPper
if u r the true LepPper from "Team Craxtion", then i give u many thanx for creating the new 3.1 craxtion. i am 1 of many true fans of yours for the hard work u have done. u maybe a newbie on these forums , but u r deffinately a big shot HERO on many other forums. for those of u who have not tried "Craxtion", give it a go , u will be very impressed... and for those who r using it , should be grateful and should consider donating a small amount of fund to "team Craxtion", even if its only $1, every $ counts towards them making a better program. ie. hoping team craxtion creates a program that will shrink large games to fit on 1 DVD-R, without the hassle of down sampling audio and deleting video demos...
