UrrBodyH8sMe, thats because no solders work entirely differently than so-swap chips. No-swaps use the bios and CD\DVD controller to determine when and what to inject into the SCex wire thus fooling the system into thinking that it is a valid disc. No solders just interupt the eject process so that the machine doesn't really know you are swapping the disc, no code injected. basically no solders are the same as the knife trick except that the tray ejects for you. Not sure if this exactly what happens just what I have been able to gather and form in my head.

Yeah I have a v7. JimmyJones of ps2newz has a v7 with a magic 2 and the game works fine for him. v7 messiah 2 users also don't have this problem. Guess it just affects magic 3.x, apple, and no solders.

Good luck.........

The original Messiah STILL boots EVERYTHING........
So I'm sure the Messiah 2 will also......

Apple is an AWESOME chip.... NO DOUBT.......

BUT..... There is nothing better than the MESSIAH..........

I recently backed up this game and I have a V4 ps2 with an apple chip. I didn't let the game get as far as the "Start new game" screen before I assumed that it was booting correctly. I will test this game on my machine and post the results as soon as I can.

I have a v7 with a Magic 3.1 and yes it doesn't work for me either.
It will get to the start game...and when you start a new game. the screen will go black and then go to RSOD.

So bighap is that the only method that works on a v7 or is there other ways..

Looks like it's time to sell my PS2 and get a new one with a new chip (but i dunno what chips are availabile in my hometown in Australia)

Just uninstall the chip - V7's are great. I'd go for the Matrix Infinity...
