Okay, so I know there are tons of threads on this, though I've yet to find one that's foolproof...

Here's the situation. Computers I've tried to get this working on are all Windows 7. My roommate's laptop runs fine WITH the cd in, not a problem. However, I can't use the CD as VMware doesn't see it properly, and my other PC (main is a mac) has a busted CD. I've tried all the tricks regarding compatibility mode, admin, options.ini....none have been 100%. What am I missing that the game would run fine on my roommates computer with the cd, then just not work at all (splash screen spin, then full quit) when using the nocd hack? I've been working on this for two days, it's driving me nuts.

And I feel smart...I got it working. I was removing the Generals.dat in place of game.dat. Didn't keep both. But yay. Working....now...to fix the mismatch error :-(
