Im really pi**ed off with my USBMOD

I have posetd numerous times about my USBMOD not working properly and I have also sent E-mails to Modchip.com who i got the chip off but they are not replying to me. Im still having no luck with this chip, I have soldered the wire as directed on the diagram, it is soldered on the white tips of the soldering points. I have only tried ###ne backups as i don't need to use my AR2 for those. My originals work but no backups do. Should i re-solder the wire? My USB only works in the bottom slot but it should work in the top slot. What is the problem???

Thank You for your help.

I'm fairly sure that the NeoKey/SBOX goes into the lower USB socket and is not intended to work in the upper socket. What did your installation instructions say?

Hi,

Have u maybe thought that the top USB port is faulty??? have you made sure the wire is still intact and is in the right position.

I have never thought much of the usb mod, when you boot a PS2 backup what happens??? what backups are they???

Post some more info

The usb modchip goes in the TOP usb port, I have one and i can load and play every game even dvdr backups. This is the third time i have replied to your post. You are not going to fix this problem until you solder the jumper wire to the CORRECT pin points. Modchip.com is the same company that sold neo2 modchips to people but couldnt supply a install diagram so to me they suck. Try using the diagram from www.chipzone.com.

My advice was based on the comprehensive instructions given at this URL:

I installed my S-Box USB mod a few weeks ago and it worked first time. I boots everything it is supposed to including all DVD rips I have done (6).
I am by no means an expert solderer, but the most important thing is to make sure you have the correct instructions and diagrams for your version board. Obviously check the connections are in the correct place and not crossing tracks.
The S-Box, Neokey and USBMOD all seem to be the same product with a different name and sometimes colour.
All USB mods are supposed to fit in the top port (the one closest to the controller).
I have found the S-Box (from www.lik-sang.com) very good and very reliable if you dont rush the booting. Make sure you wait 5 secs before powering on and make sure the LED is flashing steadily.
Just one more note; all of my rips I have done myself from the original and used 700 MB cds and all work fine. The latest Airblade rip is 2 cds of about 690 MB, so I dont think the size of the rip or media matters.
Hope this helps
