newbie help plz

I have cracked fable pc game and im not sure how to get it to run.

how do i know if its a no-cd game? as when i install it it asks for cd1 is it that i didnt use a patch thats in it or what?

also what about the file titled 'crack' what with the exe file within? can someone direct me to a 'brain-dead' guide to installing or running? or can some one pm me detailed instructions.
I realize im asking for alot, but im really new to all this. and i would really like to be part of this community...

Read the PC Games forum FAQ for a general guide on how to use cracks. Also, ask for the help of a computer-literate person. (I see you have problems with basic terminology such as a "no-cd game" and "a file with a file within".) As for installing and running the game, read its manual.

yup...

put simply, inside the rar / whatever you download as the nocd is the cracked executable..
you find that file on the harddisk, back it up and then overwrite it with the no-cd..

thats it, no rocket science degree required..

i think what you're doing is extracting the nocd with the folder, so you aren't overwriting the protected executable at all...

is the exe in the crack folder a edited setup or a edited run.exe? do i install cracked games exactly the way i do when i bought in store ?

also, how do i know if this fable pc game is a no-cd game? because theres all for disks zipped in the original rar file, do i unzip ll the rar cd's into one folder? or do i keep em zipped? or do i unzipp and recopy onto cd's?

What do you mean by "crack folder"? There's no such thing on a CD/DVD bought in a store... Install the game from your original CD/DVD and then apply the crack you downloaded from GCW (read FAQ entry IV/1).

when tyhe cracked exe isnt saying that it cant find the library, its saying something about the c++ runtime error

its probably in the wrong place then...

here's the steps (which are covered in the faq)..

1. install game
2. open the no-cd rar with winrar / whatever
3. look at the filename(s) inside the archive
4. find those file(s) in the folder you installed the game
5. backup the file(s) in the folder you installed the game
6. overwrite the file(s) with the one(s) in the archive
7. play the game

it that's too difficult for you i suggest you just play the game with the disk in the drive...

c++ runtime error ?.. specify the exact message ... 'cant find the library' and 'c++ runtime error' are not typical messages.. especially not together...

and the crack is usually the exe with the protection removed...

something tells me this is either way over your head, or you're trying to wind us up....

If you have problems with running the game with a crack, try running it without a crack first. We're not teledoctors so A) specify what you're doing, what happens and displayed error messages exactly and/or B) ask for the help of a person knowing computers better than you do.

Guys hes obviously talking about a game he downloaded.

All the rar's for the cd's he says on one disc. Cmon guys :P
