Once I have installed the game and using the mini image have successfully launched it: My game crashes back to the desktop, and an error window opens which says something about aceess violation. Previously before I had formatted my hard drive the game ran smoothly with the mini image. I have the star force version. Please Help!!!!

Try without a crack, with the original CD/DVD; does that crash, too? Read the forum FAQ.

This is a well known issue...
You'll have to patch your game!

Yeah I Figured it out. It only gives this error when installed on a FAT32 Drive.
I installed it on NTFS drive and it is now running perfectly.

Yay! I still cannot believe that the file system would make a difference... Can you, please, check out if this problem - and this weird solution - is mentioned in/on the official support documentation/page/forum? Thanks!

Sounds to me like there's a data file over 4 gigs somewhere, which is getting truncated when installed on FAT32.

I've also found a couple of posts on forums (Most unlinkable) complaining that Starforce is buggy when running stuff from FAT32 drives. If this is a case, then its definitely the newer versions that have these problems- At one stage, I did have X2: The Threat installed on a FAT32 drive.

I have checked with the official forum, though most of the people just say that we need to update yet one person wrote that this error is only recieved when the game is installed on an FAT32 partition. My cousin also have bought the game, and luckily had two NTFS and one FAT32 partition. So, I tested on his computer and the results prove that this access violation only occurs on a FAT32 drive not on NTFS. I guess the patch fixes this problem.

Hey, does anyone know where I can get a free user guide(faq) for this game.
Have already checked on gamefaqs and gamespot.
