No
No either use your Original, or make an image-copy and run it with sfn + sfcure.

I think there is still no NO-CD patch/crack, but you can run the game with an image (To avoid StarForce you should make the image in a .mdf/.mds file).
You can also use Daemon Tools v4.00HE, I've tested yesterday and it works. The only think I had to do is unplug my DVD writer (the power cable) and using all emulations on Daemon and the serial it passes the StarForce protection and you can play!

Why you assume that, is that what the warez version is? I hope you read the rules. |

DABhand, I dont know why did you said that... I'm not talking about Warez, but the only known way to avoid StarForce protection is with .mds images and emulation.
Is it a crime to run the game with a backup? I have UFO original as well, but I dont really like what StarForce does to the PC, so I'm trying to search a way to avoid using it. |

You said that he probably had the game in mdf/mds format. Why would you assume that?
He didnt say he made an image, or if he had an original or not, but you quickly assumed he had the game in this disc image format. You could have said "Make an image with Alcohol 120% to get mdf/mds files". |
