we were all noobs once. Basicaly a crack (no cd/fixed exe) is to make it possible to play a game without the need of having a disk inserted. (once its had a FULL install obviously). Now from what you describe

You have made a working backup then. If you have backed up the original Swat 4 disks and been able to do a full install from the backed up disks you have made a working copy. Now you need to download the crack from here (GCW). Remember if a game is updated to a higher version then it makes sence to get a updated crack for the same version. If you have retail version of Swat 4 installed then download v1.0 nocd for swat 4 and put the exe into the game directory (where you originaly installed the game to). Once you put the cracked exe into the game directory you will be asked if you want to overwrite and you choose YES. Now you can play the game without having to have a game disk inserted. There are many tips and info on this so have a look on here to learn some more. It is poss to make backups of some games that are called 1.1 which means you wont get the "please insert original disk not backup" message but thats hardware dependant. Just because you get that message dosent mean you havent made a good working copy. (as a rule if it installs ok then its a good copy) Basically download swat 4 nocd crack and unzip. Now copy + paste the crack into the game install location where the icon is the same as the crack + overwrite and enjoy without the need of a disk. Remember you dont have to copy game disks (because of your two year old) you can always install from original disks and just apply a crack for the game meaning you dont need to insert a disk to make it run. (no more damaged disks) Hope this was noob proof enough for you. (i remember when i to was a NoOb and diddnt have a clue what people were going on about. If your stuck then reply and ill see what i can do to help or if not me there are some other helpfull ppl here).
Great game huh
