Question Backing up CD games to DVD

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to backup a CD game to a DVD?
My PS2 has problems reading games backed up to CD, even good CDs such as TDK, so I wanted to backup to a DVD instead.
I usually backup my games using Alcohol 120% but when backing up a CD game it only allows it to be backed up to a CD and not to a DVD... is there any other way?

I dont think that this approach has ever been attempted. Now the opposite of what you are trying to do (DVD -> CD) has been done extensively, but I doubt you will find a way to put a CD based game on DVD-R.

Curious???? Why would you even want to use dvd media for a cd based game? That dont make sence to me The cost for the 2 types of media are significantly different. DVD-R's are much more than CD-R's. This is why most would seem as to why anyone would want to spend more than necessary to make a backup.

I wonder if your problem could be more of a laser issue if it is having problems reading cd-r's.

My PS2 is rather new, version 9, so I don't think the laser is on the way out but for some reason it has a lot of problems reading games backed up on CD yet has no probs at all reading backed up DVD games. (it does still barely manage to load CD games but you can hear the console struggle big time!! ... you sit there for a good minute or so while the console grinds away trying to read the CD... happens with ALL CD backups no exceptions!)

I have been researching on the net and I'm pretty convinced now that there is no way of backing an original CD game onto a DVD.

I have also heard that playing CD games on a PS2 is very straining on the laser... I'm not sure how true that is but it sure is another good reason for me to try and back up on DVD rather than CD if someday I find a way!
