resident evil veronica X problem

hello ive had my silver ps2 for 3 weeks now with a mod chip and it plays every game welll but for veronica X the disc load stuffs up randomly. Not at a certain point but randomly both on burnt copies of the game and legit from local video store . Is this a mod chip problem game problem? or laser problem. It plays other games perfect
