Question Noobish question

I recently dusted off my old playstation and backed up my copy of Valkyrie profile. Now the backups work just fine, but about halfway through the game you have to change discs, which for the life of my I can't figure out how to get the playstation to recognize the new cd. And yes I've tried booting up with the second cd on it's own and everything seems fine, I just can't figure out how to swap the discs during the game and get it to recognize the 2nd cd.

I'm using one of those gameshark methods where you pop in a boot cd or an old game you don't care about and then swap it out with the backup of the game before you begin playing. Is there a method for getting the playstation to recognize the backup cd 2 during gameplay? I tried browsing the forums, but I didn't see anyone else having a problem like this.

Ok, I havent dealt with this in a very long while. But if your using a boot disc to but up a multi disc game in your psx then all youll be allowed to play is the first disc. You would need an actual modchip to be able to easily play right into the second disc without problems.

A solution for you, is to get to the point where the game asks you to change discs. Then just use the original disc 2 and only play it to the very next save point and save. Then you can just use your backup of disc 2 to play from then on.

nope wrong i use a swap for my PSOne and here is how i play multi disc games.

insert an original (any game) hold down the lid senser the disc will spin slowly at first then speed up when the disc speeds up swap the original with the burnt disc 2 and it will load fine

works everytime for me
