Cool +r

I have a brand new V10 and the burner I have is only capable of +R. I read the V10's can play +R burns but that -R might be better, sorry if you think this is a noob question but the documentation available is a bit vague on this topic. Am I seriously risking my PS2 if I don't go out and buy a new DVD burner (like will I burn it out in a few months in this way?), and am I correct in assuming if I do burn out the lazer this way that it can be replaced, thanks.

I'm hoping this will be ok, even if it's not ideal, and eventually hope the Matrix Infinity chip will allow me to boot games from a HD in which case my lazer probably won't get used much.

-R are better because of their superior reflectivity rate. Use Ritek DVD-R for the best results...

And if I don't, do you have any idea what the result will be? Screw it, I guess I'll just buy a new burner, should be here by the time the mod-chip is installed, thanks -Derek

There won't really be any result. PS2 lasers might be bad, but not that bad. I've heard of the new V9/10 lasers burning themselves up in a matter of months and that, but if you use good quality +R media, you'll be fine. Using crappy +R media, will only have the same effect as using bad -R media, so use good quality + or -R media and you won't have a problem. No real damage will come of it, it's just that the PS2 has better success with -R. Hope this helps... LUFCfan

Thank you very much, going to cancel my order and save myself $100 hopefully. Thats a relief, and if the +R don't work, then I'll go for a new burner.
