What's the best/most efficient ps2 mod chip out right now?
I was wondering since I've been out of the loop for a while, what everyone feels the best chip is right now. Also, what about those swap cd's? anyone have any info on those?

I feel the Matrix Infinity is the best mod at the moment... (although these two are fairly similar)...

Its kind of a judgment call, it also matters what your looking for out of the chip. There are two categories that I use to describe the current mods on the market.
First, the high end category would include the Matrix Infinity and DMS3. These chips not only boot your back-ups and imports, but can boot applications from the memory card or HDD, have memory card managers and a butt load of other DEV features; they also disable macro vision and make the DVD play back region free. They are also flash upgradeable so when new code comes out you can make an upgrade disc from a downloadable file and upgrade your chip with out having to install a new chip. The second class is the low end chips that basically just allow you to boot your back-ups and imports. These would include the Apple Pro, Apple3, Duo, Duo2, Magic V (all three versions), Matrix MXL (kind of pricey compared to the others); these are the major players in this arena. There are many others but most are clones and many have bugs or installation issues like the neo12 or and magicpro which is not made by the magic team and they both use ripped off code from the magicICE project. Now the messiah falls in between these two categories, only because of its high ticket price. It has no features over the low end chips mentioned above, but is sells in the area of the high end chips so it kind of doesn’t make sense to purchase one. So in the end you have to ask your self what you want and how much you want to spend, its not to hard these days because all the chips mentioned above are performing great, other then the magicpro and neo12 and what was that other peace of crap that one guy was defending that one time.....oh yeah the apple50K....should have been named the badapple ripoff 50K. Good luck!
