Please help a novice!
First of all, sorry for my english... this is not my language, but i hope you will understand me, even if i made some mistake!
Okay, so i've buy a brand new PS2, but before put a chip inside (or USB external), what I need to know before do this? What I can do to find the model version? etc... Does you have a website that can be good to read about that? I have a DVD-Burner, so ripping game is what I want... but what software use? All this kind of question that i have no answer... Does someone have a list to "check" the thing i need, what modchip use, what to do to find the model version of the PS2, how to backup game and burn into a dvd, etc... Thank alot to help me, and sorry for spelling error!

A lot of this information is available in the Ultimate Info Sticky at the top of the page. Look through all this, and you'll be fully versed in PS2. To find your model number, look at the back of the console on the sticker. it will say SCPH-***** and maybe has an R on the end. Type this into somewhere like google and you should find your model number.
If you have a DVD Burner, you dont have to rip games, just do a straight copy using RecordNow 6/DX and you'll be good to go. Then you just have to get a mod, again, see the sticky I told you to go to at the top. Best chip for the price is the Duo (V1-8) (You might also like to try here.
