media 2 use n overall worth

Don't mean to post a$$inine questions that were already asked but what media is good (besides Ritek, that is way 2 expensive, the whole point of burning is 2 save money).

I'm planning on getting a NEC ND-1300A 4X DVD±R/±RW DRIVE INT EIDE.

Another thing, what format do u guys use, isn't svcd crappy? How's mpeg4?
What's the closest format to the original dvd quality?

Just use Ritek, any cheaper and youll wind up with a disc that doesnt play after a year or so.

And why dont you just copy a dvd without making it a svcd first? Use one of the many compression tools.

Also search the forums, nobody likes it when other people dont even try to figure things out for themselves.

I get my blank dvds from Shop4tech.com. They're leda 4x blanks and I haven't had one single problem yet with them and on the rare occasion I get a coaster it's from a software problem. They're great for any kind of back-up and they're decently proced as well.
