Evox ?
I'm a newibe and have a few ?'s about evox. Can you remove evox once you have installed and used it? Can you still use the original xbox dashboard ever again after you have installed the evox? And is there anyway of telling what Kind of Modchip you had installed if the guy who put it in won't tell you. manuf date 10-17-2003? Thanks for your help in advance.

Yeah you can uninstall an reinstall evox dashboard to your preferences. You can even set it to go back to MSDashboard if youd like.
As for the modchip thing. You would probably have to look inside your xbox. I would never go to your installer again for such BS as he is giving you. He is just trying to conceal something devious. Tyler!

My guess is that he flashed the tsop, which costed him a total of $0. Open up your xbox, look to see if there is a sucka in it.

I opened it when I got the xbox back from him and there was a problem with it. It wouldn't eject . I remember there was a chip with 9 or 10 small wires solderd to the M/B. Some ground wire loose or something. But I could not tell if it said anything on it. Would it say right on the chip itself? One other ?. I have installed the evox v.3935 now when i start the xbox without holding the power button to activate the chip i get a green screen with a message that say's need repairs call customer service or something of that sort. It's like now I have to activate the chip to play copied or regular games. Is that normal. Thanks for your support...

When you install EVOX it changes the boot sequence for the xbox. If there's no game inside the drive the first file it looks for is xboxdash.xbe. If this has been editied in any way then you'l get the green screen you're talking about.
Because you've installed EVOX it would have replaced your original xboxdash.xbe, therefore if you don't activate your chip it won't work. Hope that answers your question

But if he's installed evoX won't it look for xboxdash.xbe first anyway? ie, evox?

So is there a way to get the xbox to load games regular with evox on it? Do i have to edit the evox.ini file or something. Also would I have to update the bios because the evox shows unknown for the version? Man, I hate being a noobie!

The version showing is for your own preferance. You have to edit the evox.ini file yourself to have the version show up. Chances are your going to know what version it is if you go through the trouble to edit the ini anyways.
rename the evoxxdashboard to "evoxdash.xbe", and the xbox dashboard to "xboxdash.xbe" Newer bios (from about 1 1/2 years or so) have a different boot sequence; evoxdash.xbe <-- boots to this first mxmdash.xbe <-- boots to this if evoxdash.xbe isn't found on C xboxdash.xbe <-- if neither above files are found, the original is loaded.
