Performance wise, they are both the same. Although, the softmod is not xbox live campatable, and if you have xbl, you have to load a game disk as a boot disk, every time.

Cost wise, basically the same. AR or Mega-X-key costs as much as a chip.

no need for mega x keys now! you have 3 other options either buy a xbox to usb adapter(use ctrl driver for xbox to usb adapter) and a memory card (or make 1), use the hot swapping trick. or you could just use a usb memory stick and a usb to xbox adapter all methods are desctibed on xbox-scene.com

with chips and all...
if u wanna open it up
just do the mod
otherwise
