Installing C&C Zero Hour on backed up version

Hi Im just after purchasing C&C Zero hour and im wondreing how to install it onto a cracked version of C&C Generals just in case the unthinkable ever happens.

Umm, I don't quite understand what you're trying to do. Do you want to know how to install from a backup in case your original goes bad ?

I think he means, he has a cracked version of C&C Generals installed, has bought now C&C Zero Hour and can't install this AddOn in his cracked C&C Generals.

@Shnig:
The install of Zero Hour is checking your Generals.exe. If it's not original, Zero Hour will not installed. Just reinstall C&C Generals from your original cds and then C&C Zero Hour.

Do you have the original cds of C&C Generals ?

Yeah thats the exact problom its just in case I ever loose em or anything.

Be careful, C&C games usually have the setup protected too. Are you having problems running the setup ?

Does it work if you use the original of Zero Hour ? Does it continue the setup ? What happens when you use a backup ? Does the setup give an error message ? Which one ? Also, you DO have an original cd of C&C Generals too, don't you ?

No not on the back up version of C&C.

No when trying to install it on the backed up version of generals it says generals is not installed.

Maybe it checks the original Generals executable ? Reinstall from the backup C&C Generals, do not apply any crack and then see if the Zero Hour setup succeeds.
