Which CD-Rs?
Hello all, I'm new here.
I will be using CD-Rs to backup many of my games and I have a question. For PS2 games I can fit onto CD-R 700MB/80Min, what are some good ones? Are Fuji CD-Rs ok? Will things work ok with these? And what about PSX? |

HOWEVER, if Fujis are cheap for you (they sure are for me - 100packs at BJ's for $17), I find that they're excellent. Their overburn capacity is limited (don't push it) but for CD's at or under 700MB/80minute, they're just great. Burn full speed, no coasters.

Verbatim DataLifePlus are cheap too and they are THE best! Overburn is great and no coasters - full speed all the way!
I got 25 for £10 and a free CD Wallet - Now that can't be bad!

Err... 25 for 10 Pounds?
So that's... $14. So that's more than 50 cents each. Ouch. - Gurm |

or 40p. That's good for some quality CD-R (in the UK at least).

30 cents each just isn't cheap enough for me. I know, I'm being Jewish (well, I _am_, after all) but when I can get 100 Fuji discs for $22 with a $5 rebate, that's $0.17 each - CHEAP!

Just curious, I've been using Phillips for some of my games (Dunno why, just had some lying around). Then I decided to use TDK. Which is better, Phillips or TDK? I suppose TDK eh?

TDK, but if Phillips works for you feel free to keep using them.

Yeah, just wondering cuz the Phillips worked, but when I backed up my Gundam Seed, the CDR was pretty loud. I burned another copy using TDK and it was a little bit softer. Just curious....

Yeah TDK are higher quality which results in less work for your laser. This is why I always use the best media such as Ritek, Verbatim, and TDK, even though a lesser brand might work ok.
