Black screen, pls help!!

Hi,

I installed a magic 3.1, and have had so many problems! Now, when I turn it on, the screen just stays black. I can see the tv can sense the ps2, as it flicks between SP and LP mode (as it always had), and i can hear the drive loading the disc. I've checked the wires etc, but can't find a fault. Can anyone help?
