Share a Mp3 and go to Jail

In case you are living under a rock, the RIAA recently began its anti-sharing terrorism attack on peer to peer users. If you use Gnuetalla, Fastrack (kazaa) and/or Edonkey then more then likely the RIAA has or will scan your shared files looking for possible illegally shared mp3's and/or movies. In addition the RIAA attempts to get your IP, in order to send a letter to your IP provider to get them to drop you. The terrorists go even further, using your IP they have and will continue to subpoena people to sue them.
Read more about it here

ABC News story

A 19 year old already fell prey to their attacks and was fined $12,000 for creating a "napster-like" search engine for sharing and finding files. Read that story here
Interested in boycotting the RIAA?
Boycott the RIAA

This place has a lot of interesting info, so if you got a few minutes, read up.

But hey, Don't Panic! for those kazaa users you can download a new K++ version that blocks your ip/allows you to not show your files/ and hides kazaa ports from scanning. Good work guys.. As far as others, they shouldn't be far behind, I know edonkey already has an option to block others from seeing your files.
You can download K++ here

Over 800 subpoenas have been served so far by the RIAA. And believe me this is just the tip of the iceberg, with Palladum and other internal spyware/anti piracy hardware coming out soon, it looks like its time to go Linux, build your own box, and move to a cave.
Believe me I could write a short novel on the invasion of privacy by the government towards the american people (not too many mention many other nations). If you think this is nothing, then try putting carnivore or magic lantern in your fav search engine, nice little trojan horses developed by the FBI.

Anyway stay sharp,

BTW I dont condone illegal file sharing, but I do condemn those that think they have a right to invade my privacy.
