Serious problem with GTA VC. Help!

I purchased GTA VC from Best Buy yesterday. It will not install on my laptop or my home PC.

The Installshield crashes right at the begining of the install. I never even see the GTA splash screen. The error I get is #6006 and it says to close any other programs that might be running or delete whats in the temp folder. I have plenty of HD space.

Now the strange thing is that it will install fine on a PC at work and also on my coworkers laptop which is identical to mine.

I went to Take2's support page and noticed that it says the game will not install or will have problems if it detects certain programs or cracks on your system such as Deamon, CloneCD, etc. Could this be the problem? I do have one of the programs they say should not be used.

I don't use warez or copy games illegally but I do use no CD cracks for almost all of my games. I've been playing computer games for around 15 years and have hundreds, which I have payed for. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

you kind of answered your own question didnt you

you have one of the 'blacklisted' programs installed, you even said it yourself, kind of obvious aint it, did you try uninstalling the blacklisted program and checking ? did you check to see if the blacklisted programs are on your colleagues identical laptop?
