help with clonecd 4 or alcohol 120% to make backup copy

I went to http://psxpaul.cjb.net/ for help on creating a psx image using CloneCD

I used his tutorial to extract Street Fighter Alpha 3 (NTSC) down.. now I know it uses Libcrypt, because Clony told me so

But when i am ripping down the image.. in clonecd, using the LibCrypt profile.. it sits at 31% for about 3 hours..
then in the log it says "Cannot Read sector xxxx", finally it will get through to 100% 6-7 hours later..but when i try the cdr.. it just sits at the playstation logo..

and yes i checked.. my Yamaha 8424s is supported in CloneCD

would that be from the cd being scratched to hell? or is it just clonecd doing its thing with libcrypt..

Paul, are you out there? Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Nazxul

CD is scratched, only reason it is taking that long.
There are no read errors on a good PSX cd.
Throw clony away, it lies as far as PSX games go.

More than likely, how badly is your original scratched?

Leaves you with 3 options as far as I can see: -

1. Try to repair your original
2. Buy new original
3. Keep hold of your original and back up a different (and un-scratched) original

You mentioned Alcohol 120%, have you tried using this? If so, did you have the same problems?

You could also try using other applications such as CDRWin or Nero

Hope that this helps

Well if thats the case, then what is the best way to see how a PSX game is protected..besides manually disassembling
