[DVD Rips] Soul Calibur II DVD Rip Question
Hi, I have the ribbon based V5Rmod for my ps2 that required no soldering. One of the hitches with this thing is that you can't play CD games over 670 megs. Fortunately, tekken4 was under 670 megs, as I am a fighting game fan.
Soul Calibur II seems to be around 700 for the DVD rip. I was wondering how I could shorten the size with some program or something so that I can play it. I'd REALLY appreciate any help in this respect as I really want to play this game, bad. Any other suggestions besides shortening the sides would be appreciated too. No modchip replacement suggestions though, please. Thanks

Easier way would be to get a messiah 2 fitted and then u wouldn't have to worry about shortening games!
Regards

The easiest way would be to take out some of the movie files (or replace them with dummy files).....
I haven't ripped this game so I'm not sure what the rip kit that you used has already done.....

NTSC, I've been messing around all morning with this. I'm stumped on what to do. I don't even care about BGM or anything like that so I just want that, and MOVIE.AFS gone, or replaced with a dummy file, but I do not know how to make a dummy file or create a .bin so that it will boot. blah. EDIT: All I want is the friggin BGM.ASF and MOVIE.ASF replaced with dummy files, that puts it right under my limit. EDIT 2: Thanks... Also.. uhm, well, I'm working with DirectISO and WinISO to edit the bin and replace MOVIE.AFS and BGM.AFS with blank files, will this work or do they have to be specific, real, dummy files? EDIT 3: didnt' work, thats two ****ing coasters so far. ugh. Last edited by navi; 29-03-2003 at 10:21. |

Also, even if I edit the .BIN itself with WinISO or DirectISO the BIN stays the same size? even if I save? How do I properly resize it after editing?:|
EDIT: Well, I saved it as an ISO in WinISO, then converted it back to a .BIN and it seemed to resize it. It created a .cue with a different Mode(mode1) to burn with but I used the original cue (Mode2) instead, coaster. I'm burning the new bin with Mode1 in the cue and well, this will be my 6th coaster probably. This is very frustrating. EDIT 2: I tried using this Fur Fighter guide with the PS2 builder kit v2 or whatever and it's another ****ing coastered CD. Any help, ASAP, would be much appreciated. Ok, I've pretty much given up on this. It seems that the Swap Magic 2.0 discs will allow me to play ORIGINAL IMPORTS with my V5Rmod (NO SOLDER) modchip? Before it said I couldn't, was this a limitation of the Gameshark 2? I ordered the swamp magic 2.0 discs in case, before I go ordering soul calibur for PS2 from ncsx, can someone confirm that it will work?

Also, ottoman, no matter how much better it is, I said I didn't want modchip recommendations because I *KNOW* what is good, I just don't feel like ****ing changing my chip. Which is WHY I put that disclaimer. CHRIST. |
