Help with backing up Pinnacle studio 8? Please

Hi, I successfully backed up Studio 8 which is a video editing tool. I had backed it up using clone cd, easy cd creator and nero express. Everything went fine until I tried to install it using the backup, I kept getting an error message halfway during the installation. Something about a missing or corrupted file. Is this a protection feature they had built into the cd? This happens with all my backups of studio 8 but the original installs fine. What is going on? Any suggestions?
