How do I use the ps2reality mp, with a fliptop case?

hello,

I've seen that most people hate the idea of cogswapping... but i have no mod chip, and don't trust the soldering. but, come to think of it, cogswapping appears to be quite dangerous.
SO....

With no mod chip... can you use action replay 2, and a fliptop case to replace the cd as with the cogswap technique... to play backups/movies... if this works, it would be revolutionary.

All i'm looking for is someone to verify with 100% confidence that this would work... so i can buy and install the items.
