Any serial number on CD media?

Is there a serial number on the CD-R/RW rawlings?
If yes, how can I read this number?
Any other way to write a serial number on the cd w/o touching the image?
Thanks for any comments

Use an ATIP check program...available from cdmediaworld above, under "cd utilities"
Any info stored in the pre-gap will be shown if your burner is capable of it (most cdroms don't)
Don't know if any serial number you're after is there.
