xbox problem

i dont know what chip i have but sometimes my x box makes funny ticking noises.
i thought it was the cd, but then i listened to the back of the box and thats were its coming from.
is it because of my chip or a prob with the x box. it also stops if i touch the side but then starts again when i let go.

first open up your box and find what chip there is, its not necessarily your chip, it could be something else, but check that first
