First of all... This post is completely non game related, so if you haven’t got interest in some general comments about this forum, you better stop reading and save yourself the time to post lame remarks about it.

This is actually my first post to this forum,, I have read it on and off for quite a while, but today was the first time I found it worth while to register. The reason being that some guys have really done a remarkable job of cleaning it up from stupid questions about warez and such.. (don’t know if this post qualifies as stupid, perhaps?) No, seriously,, it was about time someone did it in order for us who can read the rules and have a genuine interest in computer games finally can use this board as intended..

This thread is completely Off Topic. Yes, Yes, Yes I do work hard to keep the forums as clean as possible. But its not just me on my own, its also you people, or as I like to think of you, 'My Little People'. If it was not for people like GLH and krondike, who report 'iffy' posts, it would be that little bit harder to keep track of warez posts. Keep it clean folks. - Mod

'My Little People' ? Plueeeeze ! I think you're getting a little carried away here, mr Mod. While this thread was no doubt off topic, I think it was rather nice. Plus some things had to be said. Yes, the tireless work of regulars like GLH & Krondike is much appreciated, but nevertheless this board will not get really clean until the newbies start reading AND ACTING by the rules before they make their first post. Most people with more than a few posts under their belt seem to know what they do, but precious few newbies seem to. Anyway, this thread's closed. I think the board would be even better if newbies would actually read the damn board rules before they post. The amount of work for the mods could be scaled back to 1/10th if everyone who registered read those rules before they posted. But that's just a dream I guess. As I said to another guy today, and now to you : we need more of you guys. Welcome to the community, I hope you like it around here.

Yah, I hope they're banning accounts on people who dont read the stickies about warez. It also helps show that GCW is vigilante against warez. I'm sure the software industry is monitoring this board.

Maybe edit the topic to include 'USER BANNED' in red. Hang-em out for all to see...

The lock symbol sorta blends in and is hard to see, newbies may not know what it means. USER BANNED would be a pretty clear example.

At this moment the official policy seems to be not banning for the first infraction. Of course if you did immediately ban them and force them to make another account, I guess they would probably be more inclined to check the rules, if only to see why they got kicked. I'm sure some of the offenders grumble about being harassed by the mods, but the discipline here could be far more tightened than the current state. Maybe deleting the offending thread, banning the poster and then sending out a SWAT team to slap him silly would be better

Mmmmm..... I think you give them more credit than they deserve. That would require advance planning and evil intent. No, I think it's just basic human nature to just stagger into a place and only worry about those little laws that get enforced.
