PS 2 GTA Vice City

Hi can someone please explain how to back my original of GTA Vice City please, it is the 2nd 1 i have bought for my son, 1st 1 was damaged by his friend, don't want to spend out another 40 quid on another, have tried backing up 2 different originals, but keeps coming up with "Read But With Errors", i think the filesize is too big - 4,455.38mb, about 4.5 gig i think, dvd-r is only good for about 4.3 gig, correct me if i'm wrong, Using Prassi as per Sticky's tutorial, also have a problem backing up - Terminator - Dawn Of Fate, also above 4.3 gig, is there n e other way to back up these games please ???
Many Thanx

Max

What program are you using ?[ edit - Oops, just saw that you're using prassi. ]

I suggest you use RecordNow Max. And no, the size of a DVD-R is 4.7 GB.

Its up to 4.5 DVDrs can do, it says 4.7 but that isnt right.....I have a perfect copy of GTA Vice City, used the latest version of nero and did a straight copy, havent had ONE game not copy right yet....Do the same for Terminator as well shouldnt have a problem, I dont use anything but Nero for this kind of stuff.

Also if you are making an image to your hard drive first and you ARENT running an NTFS file system (like with Windows 2000 or XP), 98 wont work or ME....that could very likely be your problem right there....the FAT32 file system wont read file sizes bigger than 4 gigs...so you NEED NTFS if you are doing an image to the hard drive and copying back afterwards.

Thats can't be the problem. I used 98 and backed up Vice City just fine using RecordNow DX.

you're all wrong

A DVD-R holds 4.37GB (4,700,000,000 bytes). also known as 4.7GB.

Companies dont use "computer gigabytes" to sell their products.

1 "computer gigabyte" is 1,073,741,824 bytes. 1 "company giga byte" is actually 1,000,000,000 bytes.

computers divide bytes by 1024, because that is a power of 2, where companies advertise them as divided by only 1000, for ease.

thats why a 100GB harddrive, is actually 93ish GB.

no dvd is larger. Vice City is 4.347GB. Smaller than a dvd of 4.37GB.

Just use Nero to make your back-ups. I've used it alot of times and no bad DVD's yet. I hope i didn't jinx myself.

Primo Prassi is great, I have backed up GTA vice city with it (along with most of my other dvdr back-ups.

Stop messing & use the Primodvd starter mode. It doesn't matter that it says 'CD'

If you still can't do it, change ur media!
