Sega Saturn... To Bott or Not To Boot

If the DC has routines, or patches to make images self boot, why isn't there a selfboot 'toolkit' for the sega saturn??? If there is, i 'd sure like to know!! TIA

As far as I remember, the Saturn uses some kind of hardware-protection to detect, if an original game or a burnt CD-R is inserted. After turning on your Saturn the laser checks a special area of the disk to see if it's an original or not. When you look at one of your orininal games, you'll find a small line far out at the edge of the disk. This line can't be created/copied by any burner as far as I know.
BTW, this whole thing has NOTHING to do with COUNTRY-Protection, which is additional.
So a mod-chip is required to prevent the hardware checking the above mentioned area.
