you haven't said where you are from?

If UK: -
www.blankdiscshop.co.uk
www.bigpockets.co.uk

and either the Pioneer A04/A05 or the Sony DRU500A

Thumbs up PIONEER A05

I just bought PIONEER A05, and its amazing. Im using DVDXCopy 1.3.1 software to make DVD backups with, and it works 100%.
The backups I made with it work on my PIONEER 454 DVD Player. To find more info look in www.pioneer.com or co.uk and the best place to buy it is: www.amazon.com or if you live in UK co.uk The diffrence with Sony is that you can use R/RW+ feature.

The reason I chose PIONEER products because they were highly recommended everywhere I looked & 99% of members on this forums recommend it to me....and F..K .....they were right !!

The Pioneer and Sony are great for everything. You can't go wrong with either. If you plan on using both -r/rw and +r/rw go with the Sony. If not you can save some money by going with the Pioneer.

DVD-ROM

Don't you mean DVD-ROM DRIVE.
You can't burn CDs or DVDs with DVD-ROMs.

DVD-ROM is a drive..and all it can do is play CDs & DVDs.

O dear anglik24, you are gonna wanna go burry ur head in the sand lol He does mean dvd-ram! DVD-RAM is not compatible with PS2 (or most dvd players for that matter) Most of them write dvd-r too but stick to the brands mentioned as others have tried and (painfully) found out which which writers work most reliably.

The fastest way to get a Pioneer 105 is from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk They are selling out everywhere fast. I'm currently testing every type of dvd-r media I can find, so far the PS2 has booted everything written by my 105 using nero 5.5.10.0 regardless of which media I use!
