Tray not closing using DVD-r's
I have just bought a Pioneer 105, and tried to back up some of my games.
I have a 30003 version 4, AR2/v2, neo 2.2, GTA3 orig, Infinity DVD-r, Recordnow max, Primo DVD and the latest Nero, Tried Memorex and unbranded DVD-r. If I follow the boot methods discribed on this forum by BG and everybody else, all is well until I release the reset switch, the tray comes out to replace with the back-up as you expect, but then it won't go back in on its own. You have to press eject for it to return, if you try to push it to go in there is a dead feel and it won't motorise itself back in (usually it does), and then the game fails to load. Any Ideas, it driving me crazy, ive spent hours trying all different boot methods. |

check all solder points for the mod. Never come across a neo2.2 not doing that although if memory serves me right something like this has come up in this forum a long time ago.
Sorry can't be anymore more help

Yeah, on a neo2.2 pin #5 closes the tray, Pin# 6 opens the tray. Check there first.BTW, you do realize a neo 2.2 will eventually burn out the laser.

Thanks for the reply.
At the moment the laser seems fine it plays movies o.k. even back up movies on DVD-r. I will take it apart and check the solder points I did it myself over 1 year ago and took my time. If it is a crap chip whats involved fitting a messiah 2, is it easy and will it work with my PS2 30003 version 4. Its cost me too much money to stop now Anybody??? |
