internal - external chip ?

Hello everybody,

For my PS1 I want to put a chip to play "back up" games. I hear about external chip. Are there as good as internal ? ( I m not very sure I can place the internal).

Does somebody know where I can buy one in belgium ?

Thanks for your reply

I believe your talking about something like the GameHunter on this page http://www.videogamecompany.com/acat..._Parts_65.html (There are many different ones, that was just the first I saw). Works fine for me, tho you need an old model PlayStation (not the small PSOne in other words), and it has to have an I/O port on the back (which means no 9000 series). The only flaw is you gotta insert an original disc (any disc, even a demo) forst, wait for it to stop (bout 5 seconds), then insert your backup... nice if you don't want to open up your PlayStation.

You can also get a boot disc like the PS-X Change which does the same thing but on a disc.

Best choice would be an internal mod, they are very cheap thesedays

Are you going to solder the chip to the board yourself or get it installed professionally?

If you are doing it yourself, somewhere like http://www.gamegizmo.com/products.ph...&catID=1&pID=3

If installed professionally, try at a computer fair or ask around electronic smaller electrical shops

I would take a internal mod over a plugmod any day.

thks to all off you for your reply I believe I prefer to find a professional to do that like said in one of your post. I think (it s in fact for my son his PS1, and he is 6 years old) it s better for the usage I (he) will do.

I hope I will find easily.

If somebody knows someone in Belgium....

Thks once more

Michel

try a boot disc

no need for a internal chip or and external either. search modchip sites for boot disc. You have to buy 1. you can not download 1 since they are not burned in the normal way. The cost about 30 dollars
