james bond 007 nightfire copy protection?

I tried to back up my 007 nightfire and i did it three times and they all work except when i play the first level (the car chase sniper one with dominque). in this level, there's debug information on the right of the screen and there it keeps repeating the first sequence of the chase. the game does work fine with level 2, i haven't played it long enough to get the other levels.

I have a neo 2.5 and i use DMC demo to swap. all my other dvdr back ups work fine this is the only one that seem to have a problem. does anyone know what is the problem? did ea put a copy protection for DVDR? i used both primo and nero to burn it and like i said, i've made other dvdr back ups b4.

What type of media are you using, try burning it to a different disc other than the one's your using. Also, it might be a beta version that you have if you D/L, if debug info occurs at the same place every time on that level. I've done a copy of it from an original disc and it's works great. Can't see it being your boot disc as DMC demo is the best to use, very good TOC size.

i used panasonic dvdr for one of them and the rest is white top princo 2.0 that i don't have any problem with for the other dvdr games.

as i mentioned i did not dl it. it's a backup from an original DVD that i owned. that's why it's so puzzling for me since i have backup other dvd games and they don't have any problem. this is the only game that i have a problem with.

Try changing your media either 'Traxdata', 'AllFormats.com' or 'Datasafe' to see if that helps. Even if don't have problems with other games using the discs's that you currently have, since Nightfire might not like them. Also what Burner, firmware and write Speed are you using.

i'm using pioneer a04 at 1x. the firmware is the latest one that fixes the 4x problem. don't remember wat the version number is. i would think using a panasonic dvdr (expensive brand name) would prove it's not a disc issue?

Probably Fw1.33, Panasonic are a good brand but it doesn't guarantee succesfull results every time. Need to experiment with other brands to see what suits best. Anyway, Traxdata are the best in my opinion as that's what i use for every DVD backup and they never fail.

007 nightfire

i backed this game up the day of release on to a traxdata and have no probs with it and yes i did play the first level with no problems so i will agree with HANS_COBBO and suggest that you try different media as ive had trouble backing up some games on white lable dvd-r's that are rebadged princo's.

answer is:

when the game first come out (about two weeks ago) someone was using AR2 to boot, and has the debug information on the right, and he thinks it was a bete version, then he try not to use AR2 to boot, then it works fine. so..

how does he not use AR2 to boot if he doesn't have a self boot chip? so would getting a swap magic disc solve this problem?

well ive backed it up 4 times with no luck booting on my v4 neo 2.2 with ar2 v 1.93 using devil may cry demo using 2 verb and 2 others sent 1 disc to psx_paul to try on his messiah and it wasn't a verb and it booted straight away so it isn't down to the media and now ive just tried my other 3 on a v7 with a a straight swap chip but not sure wich one it was as he didn't have a clue (just a friend of a friend) well all 3 booted with no probs (and you might say my laser is out ) well if it is it's still booting every other dvd-r i have with no probs first time every time gta vice city / the getaway / and the rest which are to many 2 mention so i have no clue 2
